Stress Management Tips

This blog post is for the mamas feeling extra stressed. When feeling overwhelmed it’s sometimes hard to be positive. Let’s be honest, stress is draining. But there are certain things you can do that will relieve some of it.

There are many stress management techniques, but let’s start with 5! Remember to adjust these based on your lifestyle and convenience. Everyone has different preferences.

5 Stress Management Tips

  • Try meditating. Light candles, put meditation music on, and shut the lights. If you can’t picture yourself as a meditation person, try blasting music where only you can hear it and sing your heart out.

  • Buy an agenda. Keeping your tasks and to-dos organized can help you feel more prepared and not overwhelmed.

  • Ask for help with the kids and treat yourself to something you haven’t in awhile. (Date night, hair cut, vacation etc.)

  • Set aside 1 hour a day just to yourself. If that seems unrealistic, start with 30 minutes a day to do something for you. Dedicating this time will give you something to look forward to everyday. (Take a walk, go to the gym, do your skincare routine, take a long shower, journal, or simply sit in silence!)

  • When feeling stressed, count to 10 before reacting. Counting to 10 gives you a chance to think before speaking and/or allows you to calm down.

I hope that these stress management tips can be helpful. Life itself can be full of unexpected twists and turns, and even more so once you become a mom. Don’t neglect to take care of yourself as hard as you take care of your children!
