Joyful Movement With Your Kids

Scheduled movement can feel like a thing of the past especially after having children. Sleepless nights, crying babies, cooking meals, cleaning the house - all while still keeping your kids occupied throughout the day.

Adjusting to becoming a mama can feel hard, and it’s difficult to make the necessary time for yourself. We get it, being a mom is a 24/7 full-time job!

That being said, finding time for yourself is definitely needed in order to release some stress and feel intune with your body and mind again!

If you feel like this resonates with you, but it’s not really possible for you to be away from your kids - let’s discuss some movement options that you could get your children involved in!

  1. Have a dance party! Put on some upbeat music and dance it out with your kids. You can also YouTube Zumba videos to do together

  2. Create a scavenger hunt throughout the house, so you all have to run around looking for things

  3. Yoga, kids seem to love getting tangled in different positions and there are some great YouTube mommy and me classes

  4. Go outside to the park to play, race or even to get a walk in fresh air

If these don’t seem to work for you, there are always other options! Maybe there’s a gym in your area that has a daycare inside. These are always helpful! If your little one is super young, wait until nap time and try a home workout that you’ve never done before. Another good strategy for toddlers or older is setting up snack/coloring time, so they’re nice and busy while you make time for you.

Movement can be fun and getting your kids involved has so many benefits for the both of you! There’s a lot of sacrifice when becoming a mom, but one of those sacrifices does not have to be you!! I know it may be a challenge to make time, but you’ve got this and you deserve it!
